A helicopter pilot and a passenger on a photo shoot were injured after the pilot made an emergency landing near a school in South Brunswick, New Jersey Wednesday.
The Robinson R 22 Beta owned by Nassau Helicopters out of Princeton came down on a dirt road and appeared to have damage to its tail section and windshield.
The 27-year-old pilot and his 44-year-old female passenger suffered chest and back injuries, reported the Associated Press. They were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
South Brunswick Police Sgt. Jim Ryan says the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. behind the Indian Fields Elementary School off Route 130 and Ridge Road.
There were reportedly no students inside the school at the time.
Workers on the school's roof told police the helicopter was spinning in distress and veered toward the school before making a rough landing about 100 feet from the school, according to the AP.
FAA investigators are headed to the scene.
