Police searching for missing IDF soldier

Missing soldier Ido Sofer

The Haifa Police Department has asked for the public’s assistance in locating a local soldier who has been missing for 11 days.

Ido Sofer was serving in the military police, but was supposed to be transferred to an educational base before his disappearance.

Ynet reported on Thursday that according to his parents, Sofer was an optimistic, normal person who had not been absent for long periods. Sofer was evidently not happy with his army service or new assignment.

Sofer, 18, was last seen leaving his home in Haifa on August 5. He was not wearing his uniform. He is described as being 1.75 m. tall, with a lean physique, short black hair and glasses.

Anyone who has information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Haifa Police
at 04-864-1369 or 04-864-8811.
