Beating Victim gets 450G From NYPD Cop

A man badly beaten by NYPD officers as he left a Labor Day weekend barbecue in Brooklyn last year got a $450,000 settlement from the city yesterday, records show.

James Hill said he was clubbed by police batons and kicked in the face as he lay on the ground, suffering substantial injuries — including a fractured jaw — during the Sept. 5, 2010, incident in Flatbush.

Despite Hill’s detention at the station house, he was never photographed, fingerprinted, or charged with a crime, his attorneys alleged in court papers.

The settlement in a Brooklyn court is the result of a federal civil-rights lawsuit Hill filed against the city.

The settlement agreement was made without the city admitting any wrongdoing.

A spokeswoman for the city’s Law Department declined to comment.
