  1. this video is so sad, but the sadder thing is that these are the happy ones. for each person in this video, there are probably 20, that are suffering in silence.

  3. these young men seem like wonderful human beings. it's a disgrace that due to books written thousands of years ago gays are discriminated against, attacked, bullied, and occasionally put to death for the 'crime' of being attracted to their own sex. that alone is evidence of the human authorship of these books. all forms of fundamentalist religion are divisive and dangerous, including orthodox judaism.
gays should not look for acceptance within an ortho world that helps further these barbaric beliefs. it is akin to a jew looking for acceptance from a group of nazis that while despising jews , doesnt advocate their actual murders.
to quote steven weinberg, "With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. "

  5. A person should not pretend to be an Orthodox Jew if they are not. A person is not an Orthodox Jew unless he or she believes in the Torah....the ENTIRE Torah...not just the easy parts but the hard parts too. If people wish to distort the Torah and twist normative Jewish Law into a pretzel, and teach others to do so, how is that Orthodox? Just because something "feels" right does not make it right. God said No but my body and mind say Yes so then we should just ignore God and do as we please?

  6. I’m glad the video came out well. Most people arrive at jqy by accident and just imagine all the people who could use such a support community but never find out about it. This sort of exposure is a step in the right direction.

  13. Ugh, this reminds me of the one obviously-gay guy in my high school. We were merciless to him, I'm so ashamed.

  14. How sad to be living on the fringe, never being TRULY accepted. Here they are being exalted only because what they do flies in the face of the torah. How they can remain orthodox is simply beyond me

  15. No they don't. Being gay alone is not against Torah. You're talking about anal sex.

As Shmarya points out, Shabbos desecrators deserve the same punishment. I'm sure you've witnessed many Jews violating Shabbos but I doubt you've witnessed many engaging in anal sex. So if you advocate stoning those you merely suspect of violating Torah because they're gay, I can only imagine what you do to those you have actually seen violate Shabbos...

  16. I eat raw garlic and humus (yes it might have a smell) and people dont accept me, now i will have to go live and declare that i'm still human.
I mean do you your own thing and leave Judaism and the public out of it.
Go out there and teach pe......ople to be more acceptive, love their children whoever they are, but stop being in this suppressed (Nebech) mentality.
Most people wont be liked by every part of society either, we all have issues, just man up and live with it!
I dont mean to be rude, i just dont get this whole thing. (unless theres some politics behind)

  17. Since all the Bible scholars are emerging, a repeat post of what the Bible says:

The original word in scripture תּוֹעֵבָה (toevah) is a type of sin that is used to describe 3 behaviors in the Hebrew Bible:

    1) male homosexual sex acts (Levit 18:25 & 20:13)
    2) eating food that is not kosher (Deut 14:3)
    3) a man remarrying his 1st wife once she has been divorced or widowed by a 2nd husband (Deut 24:1-4).

If you believe that toevah = immoral, then eating treif or the re-marriage scenario in (3) is equally immoral.
