Feds Recover Nearly $300,000 In Bogus $100 Bills At JFK

NEW YORK – It wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on, despite what it looked like.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers at John F. Kennedy International Airport say they found nearly $300,000 in counterfeit cash while inspecting a bag last week.

The play dough was found in the bottom of the suitcases of woman arriving from Medellin, Colombia.

Karol Andrea Chilito Solarte’s bags contained 46 packets of funny money.

Chilito Solarte, 29, is a Colombian citizen. She’s been turned over to agents of the Secret Service.
