Cops inspect the mangled motorcycle yesterday after the scary collision in Midwood, Brooklyn
A motorcyclist was critically injured yesterday when he slammed head-on into a minivan while being chased by a cop in Brooklyn, authorities said.
“It was like a bomb!” said Daniel Spitz, who was more than a block away when he heard the collision in Midwood.
“Everybody heard it.”
The frightening accident unfolded at about 9:30 a.m. on Coney Island Avenue. A plainclothes officer driving an unmarked car north on the avenue spotted a 2011 Yamaha motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction, recklessly weaving in and out of traffic, a law-enforcement source said.
The cop flicked on his flashing lights and turned to follow the biker, who sped off, according to the source, who said it was determined later he does not have a valid license.
The driver of the minivan was not cited.
The motorcyclist was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.
“It was like a bomb!” said Daniel Spitz
ReplyDeleteIf he was the victim how did he hear it from a block away????????
I think the headline is wrong. According to multiple news websites, Daniel Spitz is quoted as a witness. He was not the victim.
