Jerusalem - Police Arrest Suspect in 2004 Mea Shearim Murder

Police announced Tuesday that they arrested a suspect in the murder of Shmuel Siman-Tov, 49 of Jerusalem, who was stabbed to death in Mea Shearim in seven years ago.

The suspect, Mark Shapiro, 35 from Jerusalem, was arrested on December 5.

Siman-Tov was found in a rooftop apartment in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood on August 9, 2004 with dozens of stab wounds to his body. He was rushed to a hospital but died of his wounds within a number of minutes.

Police believe the murder was over a large sum of money that Siman-Tov had in his apartment.

His father, Barch Siman-Tov said of his son, "He was a religious man, a good man. He gave everything to everyone."

  1. I'm a witness to that crime, the cops did a very sloppy job to save the persons life, it took them a half hour just to get in into the house of the victim. He was standing by his window and begging everybody please save me, because of the lack of help he ended up bleeding to dead.
