Five Firefighters Injured In Crown Heights Blaze

Five firefighters were injured this morning in Crown Heights fire.

A raging fire tore through a Brooklyn brownstone this morning, leaving five firefighters with serious injuries.

The fire broke out on the third floor of a three story building on Prospect Place near Albany Avenue in Crown Heights, officials said.

The firefighters were taken to the burn unit at Cornell University Medical Center in Manhattan with burn to their head and hands, fire officials said.

The FDNY said the fire broke out at about 9 a.m. and was knocked down by 10:15 a.m.

Two other people were also hospitalized at Staten Island University Hospital with serious injuries.
