The FBI wants to search a landfill in the hope of finding college student Lauren Spierer who has been missing since June 3.
The FBI wants to search Sycamore Ridge Landfill with a hope to find Indiana University student Lauren Spierer who went missing two months ago.
Republic Services, the company responsible for the landfill, has been cooperating with the FBI since last month, said Peg Mulloy, spokeswoman for the landfill owners.
They even provided them detailed blueprints as a guide, she added.
The site takes in trash from Bloomington but it is still unclear when it will be searched.
The search could be the next hope for a family that has refused to give up.
New possibility was provided in early July when dental records showed a body pulled from Fall Creek in North East Indianapolis was not that of Miss Spierer.
Lauren, a fashion merchandising major at Indiana University, vanished on June 3 after a night out with friends.
She was last seen walking home barefoot with Jason Rosenbaum, one of five friends who last saw her, after spending the night at a sportsbar and a party.
Her parents have very openly begged for help, urging people to 'find their moral compass' and come forward if they had any information.
The couple last gave an emotional press conference in Bloomington, Indiana, ahead of the July 4th weekend.
With his voice cracking, Mr Spierer of Egremont, New York said: 'July 4th is a time for families and friends to get together, and we're appealing to the parents of the children who may have first-hand or second-hand knowledge of what happened to Lauren.
He added: 'I still don't understand what's happened,' adding 'I can tell you it's our worst nightmare.
Sadly it seems, whatever information has been provided has still not been fruitful. Hopefully the FBI search might lead to some answers
