Unabated Anti-Semitism in Paris: Vandals Target Kosher Pizzeria

Anti-Semitism once again hit the streets of France over the weekend, when large swastikas were scrawled on a kosher pizzeria in a northern suburb of Paris, French daily Metro reported.

The swastikas were reportedly spray-painted Saturday on the shop display of the B’Paradise pizzeria in Sarcelles, home to approximately 60,000 Jews.

The owner of the pizzeria said he found the swastikas on Monday, upon returning to work after the weekend. Police are currently investigating the incident and attempting to find the perpetrators.

"Since the murder in Toulouse, there have been increasing concerns over rise of anti-Semitism in the country,” said one member of the community, referring to Al-Qaeda-inspired terrorist, Mohammed Merah, who went on a killing spree in March, killing seven people, including a rabbi and three Jewish schoolchildren.

"Despite police assurances that they would reinforce the security in Jewish areas, anti-Semitic incidents remain commonplace in France."

Reports also emerged over the weekend that unidentified vandals spray-painted slogans praising Mohammed Merah in Orgeval, an eastern suburb of the French capital.
