Lawrence: Classes Resume After Apparent Bomb Threat at Yeshiva

Classes resumed around noon at Mesivta Ateres Yaakov High School in Lawrence after the building was evacuated this morning for an apparent bomb threat.

The building, at 131 Washington Ave., was evacuated around 9:45 a.m. by school officials, the Nassau Herald reported. Police officers arrived after and searched the building. Nothing was found.

Ateres Yaakov Executive Director Richard Miller told the Herald that the threat was posted by a student on Facebook. Another student informed the school.

An unnamed individual is in police custody.

MTA police also responded to the scene due to the school’s close proximity to Long Island Railroad tracks.
