Kashrus Scandal In Flatbush: ‘Pic N Pay’ Repackaged Chicken & Placed Unauthorized OU On Label
The ‘Pic N Pay’ store located on Avenue M between East 19th Street and Ocean Avenue may be a Kashrus scandal that FlatbushScoop.com unfortunately needs to report. According to an alert by the OU (Orthodox Union), Pic N Pay repacked and sold chickens, placing the OU on the repackaged product. The Orthodox Union did not certify Pic N Pay and such use of the OU was unauthorized.
The OU says in their statement that Pic N Pay has stopped using the OU on repackaged chicken.

A message from the Mashgiach at Pic-N-Pay Rabbi M.Gavrielov:
ReplyDeletePic-N-Pay admits that we repacked ou chickens and put the ou supervision on our label without the permission of the ou. The chicken Pic-N-Pay receives is factory sealed by the OU and repacked in our store under Strict Orthodox Rabbinical Supervision. We invite anyone who would like to inspect our product and processing facilities. This issue was not an issue of kashrus it was a labeling issue. To post a video saying questionable meat is wrong. The meat at Pic-N-Pay was never in question and either was the kashrus.
