MASK May Be Forced To Close Their Doors

Due to serious budget cuts, M.A.S.K. (Mothers and Fathers Aligned Saving Kids) will be moving out of their present location on Nostrand Avenue to a temporary site, and may be forced to close it’s doors. Parents in our communities are being confronted with devastating challenges, in unprecedented numbers. So many secular influences and immoral dangers are threatening the foundations of Torah. Our finest families are currently facing serious parental problems that never previously managed to penetrate our religious circles. Our leaders and community agencies have been addressing issues such as drugs, alcohol, gambling, and Internet in staggering numbers.

MASK (Mothers and Fathers Aligned Saving Kids) is a vital organization that meets these challenges head-on, assisting all who reach out for help both nationally and in Eretz Yisroel. MASK educates parents to detect and respond to issues with children early on, thereby preventing more serious problems in the future. MASK’s confidential helpline provides a means of support and referrals for thousands.

In the 13 years since its inception, MASK has worked with a staggering 14,000 families. Last year alone, the MASK helpline assisted 1,306 new families. As a result of budget cuts this past year, all MASK school programs had to be terminated. Many MASK parent support groups had to be discontinued as well.

Due to the current economic situation, MASK is facing great financial difficulty, and may be forced to shut down. Therefore, it is urgent to support and sustain MASK in their mission.
MASK is an indispensable resource desperately needed by the Jewish community.
