Chabad Rabbi Visits The Skverer Rebbe.

The Skverer Rebbe, Rabbi David Twersky of New Square, NY, was delighted this week to meet in person a gifted author of halachic works which he has been following in recent years.

Rabbi Avrohom Benshimon, Rosh of the Petach Tikvah Kollel and the Chabad Kollel at the Chai Center, was one of the Montreal Jewish community leaders that came to greet the Skverer Rebbe during his visit to Canada.

After being introduced, Rabbi Benshimon presented the third volume of explanations and interpretation on "Tzofnath Paneach," the monumental work of the Rogatchover Gaon on the Rambam.

The Skverer Rebbe asked Rabbi Benshimon to sit with him and began praising his work, noting that he has the first two volumes and that he is excited to receive the latest one.

According to a person present, the Skverer Rebbe then took out $100 and gave it to the Rosh Kollel as his participation for the upcoming fourth volume in the series printed by the prestigious publishing house Mossad Harav Kook.

Rabbi Benshimon was then asked about the writing process and the research staff he employs, to which he answered there was none.

"It's done alone," he replied.

The Skverer Rebbe didn't hide his surprise. "I know some who have a team of people, a whole kollel of avreichim, to put out such a sefer," he said.

Another two visitors were Rabbi Leibel Kaplan, Rosh Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in Montreal and Rabbi Moshe Stern, a maggid shiur in the Yeshiva and Rov of the Tzeirei Dos VaDaas shul.
