Over the course of the investigation, police arrested Izzat Hamed, who is suspected of running a criminal gang in Jaffa and other parts of central Israel.

The central unit of the Tel Aviv police has been conducting a month-and-a-half long gang-crime investigation in which a total of 24 suspects have been arrested.

Over the course of the investigation, police arrested Izzat Hamed, who is suspected of running a criminal gang in Jaffa and other parts of central Israel. The police were also able to secure two state witnesses.

Police began the investigation after they arrested a suspect, allegedly involved in an incident in Yehud, in which a grenade was thrown at criminal Yaniv Ben David's parents' home. When the suspect was interrogated, he confessed that Izzat Hamed had ordered that the grenade be thrown.

Police soon realized that they were dealing with a much greater crime web, including blackmail attempts, murder and explosive detonations. It was therefore decided to pass the case up to Tel Aviv's central police unit.

During the investigation, police were able to find an additional witness, Hamed's right-hand man, who provided invaluable information in uncovering more criminals implicated in Hamed's gang's activities.
