MONSEY — A toddler who would have turned 2 years old next week was killed Monday night in an accident at his home, Ramapo police said. The child, Mordechai Goldman, was found dead in a closet in the home on Route 306, police said.
Investigators suspect the boy was playing with a sibling when a shelf in the closet fell on him. An adult was in the home at the time of the accident. Police do not suspect foul play.
"It was a freak accident and a terrible, terrible tragedy," Lt. Mark Emma said.
