She is known for her attention-grabbing sense of style but
Madonna opted to shield her face on a family outing.
Attending a Jewish service in Manhattan, New York, on
Friday, the singer looked coy and modest wearing a black-and-white spotted
scarf pulled up over her face on Friday.
She also shielded her eyes by sporting a black baseball cap
bearing the word ‘Vogue’
She took her children Rocco Richie,12, Mercy James and David
Banda Ritchie, both seven, to observe the holy day of Yom Kippur, one of the
most important days on the Jewish calendar.
The singer opted for a laid-back look for the occasion,
wearing a monochrome outfit of a black coat, black jogging pants with a number
86 design, and black sandals.
She wore her blonde locks scraped back into a messy ponytail
under her baseball cap.
Her son Rocco also dressed down for the service, wearing a
white hooded sweatshirt, a white cartoon print T-shirt, white trousers and
matching white Converse shoes.
He also followed his mother’s lead by wearing a dark grey
baseball cap over his hood.
The younger members of the party dressed up for the
occasion, with Mercy wearing a co-ordinated outfit of a grey striped dress,
cream cardigan and grey shoes.
David also looked the part, wearing a smart-casual
combination of a white suit, white Converse shoes and a traditional skullcap
hat.
Despite Madonna’s casual attire, the Kabbalah-practising
star will no doubt have taken the service seriously.
She has been a follower of Jewish mysticism since the 1990s,
frequenting the Los Angeles Kabbalah Centre.
She has been spotted attending several Kabbalah services in
Manhattan this week, accompanied by her 25-year-old boyfriend Brahim Zaibat.
