7 months for Orthodox Singer who molested minor

David Bruckner

The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court sentenced a 40-year-old man to seven months in prison on Wednesday, following his conviction on four counts of indecently assaulting a minor under 14.

According to the indictment, Rabbi David Natan Bruckner, a Haredi children's entertainer, met the complainant in a Jerusalem synagogue in 2009 and kissed him. On another occasions, Bruckner took the boy into a nearby building and indecently assaulted him. After the abuse, Brucker gave the boy NIS 20 and told him not to tell anyone.

On another occasion in 2010, Bruckner indecently assaulted the complainant in his home, and told the boy: "you drive me crazy".

Bruckner denies the charges, and says that he has been harassed by the Haredi community because he is an entertainer. He plans to appeal the conviction.
