Is Glenn Beck an anti-Semite? Fox host slammed by Anti-Defmation League for attack on George Soros

Glenn Beck is in trouble for mouthing off, again.

The Anti-Defamation League slammed the conservative Fox News host for accusing liberal philanthropist George Soros of helping Nazis to send Jews to their deaths during the Holocaust.

Beck said on the radio this week that Soros — as a 13-year-old Jewish boy living apart from his parents in Hungary — "used to go around with this anti-Semite and deliver papers to the Jews and confiscate their property and then ship them off. … It was frightening. Here's a Jewish boy helping send the Jews to the death camps."

Abraham H. Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League called Beck's comments inaccurate, "completely inappropriate, offensive and over the top."

He added, "To hold a young boy responsible for what was going on around him during the Holocaust as part of a larger effort to denigrate the man is repugnant."

Soros, now 80 years old, was raised Jewish but now calls himself an atheist. He has spoken publicly about how he spent a brief period of time posing as a member of a Christian family to avoid death.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Beck aired a three-part series on the billionaire, calling him a "puppet master" and blaming him for many of the world's current political and economic problems.

Several critics said Beck's attack against Soros is anti-Semitic. Michelle Goldberg of the Daily Beast called his series "a symphony of anti-Semitic dog-whistles."

Beck went on to say that he was "more supportive of Israel and the Jews than George Soros is."

Fox News backed Beck on Thursday.

Joel Cheatwood, a senior vice president at Fox News, told The New York Times that the "information regarding Mr. Soros's experiences growing up were taken directly from his writings and from interviews given by him to the media, and no negative opinion was offered as to his actions as a child."

  1. Why is it that every time this f*ck says something, the DN has to do an article about it? He's just an empty suit, stop giving him so much free press!

  2. Glenn Beck may claim not to be an Anti Semite, but as the old saying goes, the proof is in ther pudding. Nonetheless, first and foremost, Glenn Beck is as Anti American as anyone could get...

  3. I am not a fan of Glenn Becks.. But I watched his expose on George Soros. The ADL is off the mark. I AM Jewish and he said nothing against Jews. He quoted Soros.. And exposed how Soros was a Morano (hidden Jew) during the Holocaust and was basically a Kapo (collaborated) with the Nazis confiscating Jewish property and helping send Jews to death camps. Glenn Beck merely exposed that George soros is working to destroy the United States and is Anti-Israel. How does that make him Anti-Semitic??

  4. Faux News is Jewish owned and are very pro-Isreal, in it's reporting. I'm sure this story by Beck didn't come without Rupert Murdoch's knowledge and/or authorization
