U.S. media watchdog campaigns against NYTimes' 'bias' on Israel

Boston-based American media watchdog group CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America) launched a campaign against The New York Times for what it claims is the paper's biased coverage of Israel, the PRNewswire reported.

The billboard headline reads: "Would A Great Newspaper Slant The News Against Israel? The New York Times Does." A short list enumerates criticism. The message ends with a call to "Stop The Bias."

CAMERA director Andrea Levin says the paper has a "chronic bias embedded in the reporting and commentary," and a study authored by the group claims The Times omits certain facts.

The watchdog group has placed a billboard adjacent to The Times' offices in New York City and is publishing ads in several newspapers, among them The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post.
