NYPD Shots Fired Near Port Authority, Two Hospitalized With Graze Wounds

NEW YORK – Intersections around Midtown were blocked off on Saturday night following a shooting that sent two people to the hospital.

A large investigation had the normally busy area around the Port Authority Bus Terminal shutdown, CBS 2′s Dave Carlin reported.

Police officers were apparently trying to corral an emotionally disturbed man who was moving in and out of traffic.

During the struggle police said that they had to open fire, CBS 2 reported. Three shots were fired. Two bystanders were hit and taken to Bellevue Hospital with graze wounds.

A suspect is in custody.
