The most complex and technologically advanced security system in the world is near completion.

The NYPD Lower Manhattan Security Initiative which includes NYPD security cameras and privately owned surveillance cameras, spans midtown Manhattan to lower Manhattan and can analyze patterns, shapes, colors over the past 30 days.

"You can use it as an alarm. If a package is placed down, you can get a notice on a screen and respond," said NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly.

The system was created in 2004 at a cost of $100 million.

Good Day New York reporter John Huddy was given a special tour of the executive command center by Commissioner Kelly.
