SI man who allegedly stabbed parents, fled to Israel claims he's 'Son of Sam'

Eric Bellucci arrives at court Thursday..

A madman from Staten Island accused of brutally stabbing his parents to death likened himself to the city’s most notorious serial killer during a wild rant today prior to his court appearance.

“I’m the Son of Sam!” Eric Bellucci wailed as he sat on a city Correction Department transportation bus parked outside Staten Island Supreme Court in St. George.

Bellucci, 31, allegedly butchered his parents Arthur Bellucci, 61, and Marian Bellucci, 56, on Oct. 13, 2010 inside their Poillon Avenue home in the affluent section of Annadale. He fled to Israel but was eventually captured.

After he was taken off the bus, a handcuffed Bellucci continued his crazed screaming.

“Who’s joining the Taliban now,” he shouted, referencing the Afghanistan-based terrorist network.

“Why did you lie to get a warrant? Your badge is mine,” he also barked at one of the detectives who handled his case.

Once inside the courtroom, Bellucci locked his eyes on Justice Leonard P. Rienzi and never broke the psychotic stare.

His lawyer, Mark Fonte -- seemingly disturbed by Bellucci’s erratic behavior -- asked for more time to review the findings of two state psychiatrists who deemed Bellucci “fit to proceed” with court hearings.

Fonte also asked for -- and received -- protective custody for his client, an action being taken “out of an abundance of caution,” he said. Bellucci is currently locked down on Rikers Island.

He will appear again on Sept. 22.

“I've not made a decision on whether or not to confirm the report,” Fonte told reporters outside court.

Aside from his outbursts today, Bellucci has been known to ramble in Hebrew and claims he is an agent for Mossad, the Israeli secret forces.

He has yet to be arraigned on the double-murder indictment filed by the Staten Island District Attorney’s office on Dec. 2, 2010.

However, Bellucci would have to up his body count to take the title of “Son of Sam” away from admitted murderer David Berkowitz, who killed six people and wounded seven others during a violent spree between 1976 to 1977.

Berkowitz, 58, later said that he was following orders given to him by the demon that possessed his neighbor’s dog.

He is serving six consecutive 25-years-to-life sentences at a maximum-security facility upstate and recently said he has no interest in seeking parole.
