Dr David Brizer was like a one-man Pfizer, selling prescriptions for Oxycodone and other pills

A Midtown doctor faces seven years in prison for setting up a one-man painkiller factory, prosecutors said Monday.

Dr. David Brizer, 60, allegedly sold prescriptions for up to $300 from February 2010 to August 2012 — and then under-reported his taxes by $500,000, said Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

Brizer was arraigned Monday in Rockland County court — where he had another office in Nyack — on 55 counts related to the scheme. The maximum sentence is seven years.

In one case, Brizer sold prescriptions to a dealer that allowed the pill pusher to obtain 240 Oxycodone tablets at one time, Schneiderman charged.

"Instead of saving lives, Dr. Brizer used his position to supply drug dealers and feed a prescription drug epidemic that is devastating families across our state,” Schneiderman said.
