'Weapons locker' dude: They know who I am

The balding and bearded mystery man charged with hiding a cache of weapons in a city storage locker -- and ordered held on $4 million bail -- is a self-described "old punk" who claims the Army sent him packing for seeing ghosts.

"If you had seen what I've seen, you would have been discharged, too," the man who calls himself James O'Donnell and claims to be only 39 years old told The Post yesterday at Rikers Island.

In barely audible mumbles, he denied authorities' claim that they'd been unable to verify his identity since he was arrested in March wandering around the East Village.

"What they're saying about me not having a Social [Security number] or an ID is falsified," he said, insisting that he handed over a US passport and a Washington state nondriver's identification card.

O'Donnell, who claims to have also lived in Florida and Europe, said he was "between cities" and looking for something to eat when undercover cops saw him poking around some trash outside a bake shop on St. Marks Place -- allegedly with a large dagger sticking out of his bag
