WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) – Police said they’ve made four arrests in a $230,000 Wal-Mart heist and believe some of the suspects may have held up other suburban stores.
Public Safety Commissioner David Chong said Friday the suspects, Christopher Fountain, 28, of North White Plains, his cousin Phillip Fountain, 20, of Mount Vernon; Autumn Jordan, 22, and Tyrone Cramer, 36, of The Bronx, face robbery and weapon charges in connection with the Nov. 29 robbery in downtown White Plains.
Chong said it’s believed the same crew hit an Old Navy store at the city’s Galleria mall on Sept. 7, taking $31,000.
It’s also being eyed in connection with a June 7 Victoria’s Secret robbery at the Palisades Center mall in neighboring Rockland County.
Police used surveillance tapes to help identify the suspects.
The robbery occurred around 3 a.m. on Nov. 29. Police said two of the suspect were dressed in white painters suits. The four robbers pushed their way into the store threatened the manager with a silver handgun.
Police said the manager was forced to open the safe and then bound with plastic ties.
The robbers left after emptying the safe of more than $100,000 in cash. Police said the manager was able to free himself and called police.
