Police walk a woman out of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel service entrance after she was disarmed inside the hotel
A woman wandering in the crowded lobby of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel talking to herself and wearing neon pink undies on top of her pants was disturbing enough.
But when a hotel employee spotted the butt of gun sticking out of her jacket pocket Saturday morning, things got really weird.
Cops said when hotel security approached the woman - identified as Marilyn Michose, 46, of Danbury, CT - she told them that she merely wanted to put her valuables in the Park Ave. hotel's safe.
But when they asked if she had a gun, she bolted and ran into a nearby empty hotel bar, where she calmly surrendered and handed over what turned out to be an unloaded .25 semi-automatic Beretta.
The woman, who had been staying as a guest on the 12th floor, was handed over to police and taken to Elmhurst General Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
She was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree.
