Shady lawyer Lou Posner disbarred after pleading guilty to running hooker ring out of strip joint

First he lost his midtown jiggle joint. Now he's lost his bid to remain listed as a lawyer.

Shady lawyer Lou Posner, who pleaded guilty in March to selling sex out of his members-only lap dance club in Manhattan, Thursday was stricken from the state's roll of lawyers by a state appeals court.

The roly-poly pimp was automatically disbarred after pleading guilty in March to a felony charge of running a hooker ring out of the now-shuttered Hot Lap Dance Club on West 38th Street. But Posner was challenging a push by the committee that disciplines lawyers to have him removed from the roll of lawyers.

Posner's claims were "unavailing," a panel of judges determined.

The notorious no-holds-barred strip club was shuttered in July 2008, following a raid that came months after a member sued the club when he took a stripper's heel to the eye during a bump-and-grind gone bad.

Posner, who was listed on a club website as "Lap Dance Lou," was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to perform 60 hours of community service as part of his guilty plea. He was also ordered to steer clear of skin joints for five years and had to fork over a fine of $300 - or enough to bankroll 15 lap dances at his old club.

As part of the deal, Posner also admitted to lying that NYPD members tried to shake him down as the club got busted. But charges against his wife were dropped.

More than 20 people, including porn star Alexia Moore, were busted in the raid on the Hot Lap Dance Club, which prosecutors said raked in more than $1 million a year.

Moore, whose real name is Cassandra Malandri, was acquitted of prostitution charges in January.

  1. isn't this the pot calling the kettle black? really with all the coruption going on by other elected officials and they still get to continue "pretending" they are doing their jobs. Mr. Poser will get a excellent legal team to appeal and petition the state bar of NY to allow him to continue practicing law. If that does not work if I were him I would start naming names of those who were clients being serviced by said hookers in strip joint.

  2. A pimp gets 60 days of community service for exploiting young women. This is rather coincidental that a kerfuffle is being about a serial killer of prostitutes is on the loose on the Island. This also must be a first where a PIMP admits in open court what he is and walk out a free to continue plying his trade, which he will do undoubtedly . Only in New York, folks.Only in NYC.

  3. When you possess the complexion of protection & you're also an admitted pimp, who condones the exploitation & brutalization of women, then you get a measly 60 HOURS of community service & probation. Huggy Bear would be in prison and his fine wouldn't be a paltry $300 - it'd be $300,000 - especially if he were raking in a million a year. Meanwhile many, many politicians will partake in these clubs and use the women too, so why would they actually prosecute this man with a real punishment? Gee he's disbarred. Oh well, just another regular day of the same ole double standards!
