Brooklyn, NY - Kings County District Attorney Charles J.
Hynes today announced the sentencing of Tommaso Dilillo, 35, to 32 years in
prison for kidnapping a four-year-old girl outside her home, forcing her into
his car, driving off with her, and sexually abusing her.
He was convicted on November 12, before Brooklyn Supreme
Court Justice William Harrington, of Kidnapping in the Second Degree and Sexual
Abuse in the First Degree.
Dilillo received 25 years for the kidnapping and an
additional seven years for the sexual abuse.
He was also sentenced to 10 years post-release supervision.
On July 16, 2007, Dilillo grabbed the girl from the front
steps outside of her Borough Park home.
He put her in his car and drove off with her. He later pulled the car over and sexually
abused her.
Dilillo removed the girl’s underwear and threw it out the
car window. Then he drove her several
blocks away and told her to get out of the car, which she did.
A woman found the girl wandering on the street, and called
police. Police recovered the underwear
and found DNA on it in the form of saliva.
However, at the time, they did not know whose DNA it was.
In July 2009, Dilillo and his sister were arrested in a sex
trafficking case. In March 2011, the
defendant pled guilty to Sex Trafficking in that case and was sentenced to a
maximum of three years. As a result, he
had to supply a DNA sample.
The DNA matched the saliva found on the four-year-old’s
underwear, and he was subsequently arrested for that case.
