Jerusalem - Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef has
chosen his son, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, as the party’s leading candidate to become
the Chief Sephardi Rabbi, Israel Radio reported on Friday morning.
Yosef’s other son, Rabbi Avraham Yosef of Holon, was
originally considered the front runner for the candidacy, but was forced to
withdraw after becoming the subject of a police investigation.
