State police and Kiryas Joel emergency officers are
searching for a 10-year-old special needs boy who went missing at about 6 p.m.
Sunday in Orange County.
The boy, Simon Zorgor, went missing near Lizensk Boulevard,
a densely populated cul de sac off Schunnemunk Road, said a Kiryas Joel public
safety officer.
The boy is autistic and has wandered off before. Responders
are searching the nearby area and the woods.
Flyers with Simon's picture have been posted throughout the
neighborhood.
At this point, responders don't believe the boy to be hurt,
the Kiryas Joel officer said, but there is fear he may be disoriented.
After being called off for the night, the search will resume
at 8 o'clock Monday morning.
Simon's family is from Brooklyn, and they were visiting his
grandparents at the time.
The public is asked to continue saying Tehillim for Shimon
ben Raizel Devorah as rescuers and volunteers continue to look for the missing
boy.
Anyone with any information regarding Shimon Zorger’s
whereabouts is asked to contact the State Police at 845-782-8311 or the Kiryas
Joel Public Safety Office at 845-782-5577.
