NEW YORK - New York State police and Kiryas Joel emergency officers are
searching for a 10-year-old special needs boy who has gone missing Sunday
evening.
A Kiryas Joel public safety officer says Shimon Zorger went
missing near Lizensk Boulevard, which is a densely populated Cul-de-sac off
Schunnemunk Road around 6:00 p.m
The boy, who has Down syndrome, has a tendency to hide,
according to the officer. Kiryas Joel residents and emergency responders are
helping in the search in the nearby area and woods.
Responders believe the boy isn’t hurt, according to the
Kiryas Joel officer and state police search dogs and rescue boats have been
called in to help in the search.
Reports say search boats have been going to Shadow Lake and
Lebanon Lake.
As of 10:40 p.m. Sunday night the boy had still not been
found, officials said.
