Southwest jet's landing gear collapses upon landing at LaGuardia


NEW YORK  - A Southwest Airlines jet arriving from Nashville experienced a rough landing as the nose gear either collapsed upon landing.

Emergency vehicles surrounded the plane, which was carrying 149 passengers. The emergency chutes deployed, and first responders guided the passengers off and away from the aircraft.

It is unclear how many people were hurt, but the Port Authority said that several people reported having injuries.

The Port Authority has shut down the airport at this time.

The FAA said that flights headed to LaGuardia will be held at their origin, according to NYCAviation.
