Lawyers confirm NJ judge lived with accused robber

SOMERVILLE, N.J.  — Lawyers have confirmed a Superior Court judge in New Jersey was dating and living with a wanted man.

Judge Carlia Brady was suspended without pay from her job in Middlesex County in June after she was accused of harboring Jason Prontnicki in her Woodbridge home.

Prontnicki was wanted on charges of trying to rob drugs from an Old Bridge pharmacy after threatening the owner with a crowbar in April. Nothing was taken and no one was injured.

Brady's attorney tells The Star-Ledger of Newark his client didn't know her boyfriend was wanted by police. Walter Timpone says the judge also didn't know he had pleaded guilty in November to receiving stolen prescription forms or was accused of violating his probation.

A judge has ordered Prontnicki held without bail.
