Scene of incident
A 47-year-old woman and
her 7-year-old son were found this morning, December 9, 2013, lying injured on
the roof of a vehicle in Kfar Chabad, Israel.
Police report that it appears the
woman threw her son from their second floor window, and then jumped after him.
They were transported to
Assaf HaRofeh Hospital for treatment.
The mother suffered light
injuries to her extremities, while the son was listed in moderate condition
with abdominal injuries.
Police say the
investigation is underway, but officials posit that the mother hurled the son
out of the window, and then jumped herself.
Medics at the scene said
that the fact that they landed on a car’s roof may have saved their lives, or
at the very least prevented serious injuries.
The woman was released
from the hospital and placed under arrest, as authorities continue with the
investigation.
