Monsey - Ramapo police probe armed carjacking

Monsey - Ramapo police are trying to piece together the details of a carjacking that happened on Saturday night.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. at an abandoned house at 416 Route 59. Police said three men were held up at gunpoint by three other men who drove off with the victims’ vehicle, a silver 2004 Honda Odyssey.

“What they were doing there we’re still investigating,” said Sgt. Salomon Matos Jr. “We don’t think it was legit.”

The stolen car was found at the Palisades Center mall in West Nyack. Police have not recovered a weapon.

Police said Sunday they were interviewing two men in connection with the carjacking. No charges have been filed.
