The wife of the grand rabbi of Biala, fled Israel for the
United States, because she was constantly beaten by her husband, according to a
report in the Haredi World.
The wife of the Lugano Safed Jerusalem Biala rabbi, quit her
marriage and fled, a person familiar with the situation reported.
The woman, who was married to Rabbi Steinvurzel, a known
yeshiva leader of Bobov, until he died, married Ben Zion Rabinowitz 18 years
ago.
The woman’s children are advising her to seek a divorce due
to the severe abuse she has suffered at the hands of her husband.
Last week, she was severely abused and assaulted, and she
decided to call it quits.
This is the first time that a Hasidic grand rabbi is being accused
of wife beating.
