Angelina Jolie has been banned from flying her personal
plane.
The 38-year-old star's luxurious $360,000 Cirrus SR-22 plane
has been grounded by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after the
star failed to renew the aircraft's registration.
According to the New York Post newspaper, the plane's
license expired on June 30 and Angelina's Chivan Productions company - which is
listed as the plane's owner - didn't get the registration renewal application
to the FAA within the required time.
The governing body wrote to the company in September,
informing them their paperwork was submitted too late and as a result, the
plane is said to be without appropriate registration.
Despite not having a valid certificate, the aircraft was
reportedly used for a flight to Montana, in the west of the United States, in
October, although the pilot wasn't noted.
Angelina has used the jet in the past to travel around the
world with her fiancé, Brad Pitt, and their six children, Maddox, 12, Pax,
nine, Zahara, eight, Shiloh, seven, and five-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
The luxury airliner is one of the world's fastest
single-engine planes and can travel up to 300 miles per hour. It also has a the
ability to deploy a large parachute to safely land the entire plane.
