A 12-year-old boy was killed when he ran into a Park Slope
street and was struck by a van.
Police identified the child as Samuel Cohen-Eckstein, who
lived in a building on Prospect Park West. Police say he ran into the busy
thoroughfare at Third Street just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say the boy was struck by a van traveling southbound.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the van remained at the scene. There were no
arrests.
