NEW YORK - A woman died in police custody in Brooklyn after
she was arrested on a charge of violating an order of protection early Sunday
morning.
Police say 33-year-old Kyam Livingston suffered seizures
around 6:40 a.m. while awaiting arraignment. Livingston was taken to Brooklyn
Hospital and where she was pronounced dead.
Officers responded to a call after midnight Saturday about a
dispute near Prospect Park and saw Livingston engaged in a confrontation with a
79-year-old woman, violating the protective order.
According to police, Livingston looked intoxicated and was
taken to Kings County Hospital. She was released from the hospital around 9:00
a.m. and brought to a precinct, then to a central booking facility around 10:30
