A Jewish man living in Flatbush in New York City was killed by a train on Monday. The victim was identified as Shmuel Aharon Erez.
Passersby called emergency services. However, paramedics could do nothing but declare Erez’s death.
At this stage it is not yet clear why Erez was on the tracks. Police are investigating.
Volunteers with the local Jewish organization “Chessed shel Emet” said they were shocked when the body arrived and they recognized their friend. Erez was a volunteer for the local Hatzala paramedic team, they explained.
