American Apparel has launched a new nail polish named
"Hassid."
American Apparel said that the black nail polish is a
tribute to the ultra orthodox Jewish community because the group typically
dress all black.
The clothing store has therefore decided to name the bottle
of black nail polish "Hassid."
American Apparel founder Dov Charney is Jewish, and it is
unknown if he meant this as a friendly gesture or he intended to mock the
ultra-Orthodox Jews.
The name is apparently based on the preference of the
Hasidic community to wear predominantly black clothing. The black nail polish
is for sale, and can be ordered on Amazon for just $6 each.
