Miami, FL - A suspicious late night fire destroyed a
high-end wig salon in North Miami Beach Thursday, leaving its owner, Rachel
Berkowitz, “devastated.”
WSVN.com (http://bit.ly/15HrnAr) reports that police and
rescue crews responded to a burglar alarm call at Rachel’s Wig Salon at 163rd
Street and 11th Avenue around 1 a.m. and found the back door had been
shattered, with a fire raging inside.
Berkowitz said she has poured her “heart and soul” into her
shop, and while she has insurance, she is unsure whether it will cover all the
damage, which she estimated at between $100,000 and $120,000.
Arson investigators were on the scene Thursday collecting
evidence.
Throughout the day, many of Berkowitz’s regular customers
stopped by to offer her support.
