VP Joe Biden's daughter marries Jewish doctor in Delaware, but the Obama's are not invited

Vice President Joe Biden’s 30-year-old daughter Ashley on Saturday married Dr. Howard David Krein of Pennsylvania at a ceremony in Delaware, according to a late Saturday news release from the vice president’s office.

Ashley is a social worker for the Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families. David is a New Jersey native and a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia,.

The News-Journal of Wilmington reported that the couple exchanged vows at the St. Joseph on the Brandywine church, where Ashley was baptized. It was a joint Jewish-Catholic ceremony, followed by a reception at the Biden residence in Greenville.

Jill Biden said that Krein spends two weeks a year in Belize performing reconstructive surgery on children with facial deformities.

“Howard is the perfect guy,” Jill Biden said. “He’s perfect for Ashley.”

Barack and Michelle Obama are not among the 200 guests invited to the wedding.
