NEW YORK - An armed suspect is in critical condition after being shot by police in Brooklyn.
The NYPD says the incident occurred at 8:34 p.m. Thursday in the Williamsburg section.
Police say the suspect's .380-caliber semiautomatic weapon was recovered.
No police officers were injured.
The shooting happened in the rear of 255 Havemeyer St., near a housing project.
No other details on what led to the shooting were immediately released.
The suspect was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
The investigation is continuing.
