Donald Trump offers Barack Obama $5M if he releases records

NEW YORK - Donald Trump has a deal for President Barack Obama — if he releases his college and passport records, the New York real estate mogul will contribute $5 million to a charity of Obama's choice.

Trump made the announcement Wednesday in a video posted to his Twitter account. He called Obama "the least transparent president in the history of this country," and said the deal would end voters' questions.

Trump has endorsed Republican Mitt Romney in the presidential race. Trump drew broad publicity last year for questioning whether Obama was born in the U.S. and eligible to be president, forcing Obama to release his long-form birth certificate.

In the video, Trump said he was proud to have pushed Obama to release the birth certificate or quote — "whatever it may be."

  1. Mitt Romney has not showed his college transcripts and passport records either. Yet there is no Trump offer of $5 million to charity if Romney releases them. How unfair. Trump apparently likes Romney, and yet he does not seem eager to give $5 million to charity for Romney releasing transcripts and passport records.

If Trump made the offer to both candidates, then it might be considered a fair offer of $10 million to charity. But he didn't.

Moreover it seems to show that Trump has suspicions about Obama not being a good student, while he has no suspicions about Romney not being a good student. I wonder why that could be???

BTW, the allegation that Obama was a foreign exchange student came from an April Fool's article originally written on April 1, 2009.

  2. Makes no difference why he asked Obama. It doesn't sound so complicated to release your records unless you are hiding something . For five million, why not show it.

  3. A supporter of your rival makes you an offer that he will pay money for you, the first black American president, to show your grades. He does not make a similar offer to the other candidate, who happens to be white, to show his grades. If you take the offer you are saying that it is a perfectly fair thing to do, to make a $5 million offer to only one of two candidates and it is perfectly fine to imply by the $5 million question that the grades of the first black president of the USA were not as good as the grades of his rival.

NO president or presidential candidate has ever showed his grades (Bush's were leaked by Yale, but Bush did not show them). Romney has not showed his grades either.

  4. Obama, who did not show his school, college or graduate school transcripts or applications for admission (but then neither did Mitt Romney) was re-elected president of the United States last night. He won both a majority of the popular vote and a clear majority of the Electoral College vote.
