Williamsburg - Holocaust survivor, 93, dead after getting struck by SUV in Brooklyn

Officers investigate a Williamsburg accident that killed a 93-year-old woman.

A 93-year-old Holocaust survivor was killed and her 68-year-old daughter injured last night after they were stuck by an SUV in Williamsburg, cops and neighbors said.

Gitzella Katz was walking with her daughter Judy Fisher, in the Taylor-Wythe houses where Katz lived, at around 9:50 p.m. when a black Toyota Highlander backed into them as the driver was trying to park, witnesses said.

“They were just laying there, not moving.

They were walking together. I saw them fall backward,” Pessie Gelb, 44, said.

Another witness, Christopher Wallace, heard the victims’ horrifying screams just before the accident.

Katz and Fisher were rushed to Bellevue Hospital. Fisher was in stable condition early today.

One of Katz’s neighbors said she was inseparable from her two daughters, who both live nearby.

The 26-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with chest pains.   No criminality was suspected, cops said.
