Milton Weiss, 96, arrested for beating his wife to death.
PALMS - A 96-year-old man was arrested Saturday after his wife was found bludgeoned to death in their apartment.
Police were called to the couple's residence in the 3100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard after receiving a report of suspicious death.
When officers arrived, they found the 81-year-old woman, identified as Ann Weiss, dead of what appeared to be a head injury.
Neighbors say the couple was experiencing difficulties with their health recently and had a caretaker visit their home for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Family members say the couple has been happily married for 20 years, but that recently her husband, identified as Milton Weiss, thought she was stealing his money.
"She had said she was having a lot of trouble with him," neighbor Sharon Queen-Ford told KTLA. "He was getting confused about things and would be angry about something that wasn't real."
"She couldn't have been a better person," Queen-Ford said. "I was concerned for Ann because she was looking very frail."
Police say Milton suffers from dementia and may not be fully aware of the crime.
Milton was arrested late Saturday on suspicion of murder and is being held on $1 million bail.
I'm afraid he might get the harshest term of "life in prison".
