Google's Sergey Brin spotted in New York testing out new Google glasses — while riding the subway like any other straphanger

The billionaire co-founder of Google looked like your average joe riding the subway — except for the fact that he was wearing futuristic Google goggles.

Straphanger Noah Zerkin spotted Sergey Brin riding a downtown 3 train Sunday evening, holding a plastic bag and sporting a winter hat.

“I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes,” Zerkin said in a Twitter message.

But Zerkin, 32, said it looked as if the other passengers on the train heading toward 14th St. didn’t appear to recognize the tech genius, or the cutting edge eyewear.

“(The glasses) looked fine to me,” Zerkin said. “I don't think the people around him had noticed.”

The starstruck techie said he asked Brin how development of the glasses was going. “Fine,” he replied, according to Zerkin.

The $20 billion man’s famed specs allow wearers to surf the Internet, make calls, and much more only through voice commands or pressing a button on the frame. In a video released by the company last year, a goggle-wearer effortlessly gets directions, sends messages and takes photos while strolling Lower Manhattan.

The goggles are being tested by a select few, and have been spotted on occasion around the city. Models for Diane von Furstenberg sported them while walking the runway at New York Fashion Week in September.

Zerkin, who also develops “augmented reality” headwear, said it was possible the gear would be widespread within just a few years.

Google goggles, he added, are “just the tip of the iceberg.”
