Miami - Jewish Proposal at Marathon Finish Line

Avi Wolf proposes to Rachel Avisrur at the finish line of the Miami Marathon

For most people, just finishing a half marathon is enough to make a day memorable.

But for New York native Rachel Avisrur, the day became even more special as she crossed the finish line Sunday, 3 hours and 42 minutes after she began.

Her yarmulke-clad boyfriend, Avi Wolf, was waiting for her with a bouquet of flowers, a ring, and a question, the Miami Herald reported.

Wolf dropped to one knee, and asked Avisrur to marry him.

She said yes.

“I’m like the happiest person ever,” Avisrur said. “I thought he was in New York.”

Avisrur ran the race to raise money for Chai Lifeline, which provides support and a camp for Jewish children with life-threatening illnesses.

“You only live once,” Wolf said. “She supports Chai Lifeline. I knew she was here and wanted to surprise her with something she loves to do.”
